Hellfrost and new yarn.

So not only did it snow here in New Bedford, it dumped three feet of white shit on us, which was later plowed, shoveled, and piled into 6-10 foot snow banks that now line my deadly icetrap of a street. The impending doom came via the weather forecast on Friday night, and again with more balls to it the following afternoon. "Snowed in?" I thought, "Better get to the craft store!" so after a bunch of no-funness involving errands, I forced Jonathan to haul me to A.C. Moore for charm making supplies for my latest craftster.org swap. [shut up.] I walked out with charm supplies, new glue for marble magnets, 3 skeins of yarn for...something, and probably some other things I've already forgotten. MINUTES before the store closed early for the night, no less. My hopes of crafting all night were dashed when Jon told me we'd be visiting his brother for poker...my least favorite game ever. I had fun, eventually poker was sucking the life from me and I started making charms WHILE I pretended to play poker. I was desperatly trying to lose all my chips so that I could make a getaway to the couch but despite my best efforts I ended up winning several large pots, and, again, my hopes were dashed. After a long night of poker and my indifference, Jon decided we might as well get going. That is when we opened the door to a few feet of menacing, violent snow, lying undisturbed on all the surrounding streets. Enter 2 hours of digging out van, driving van approx. 15 feet down the street, digging stuck van out again, sliding home, getting stuck down the street from warm home, digging out space to abandon van inside, and finally a 2 street trudge home with crafty purchases clutched tight against my chest. This was the last time we were to see our van for the next 48 hours.

So over the next two days of blissful incarceration within my domicile, I managed to finish all 12 charms for the "Charmed, I'm Sure" charm swap, 1 pair of simple but adorable wrist warmers from "Obnoxiously Simple Fingerless Gloves" pattern on craftster, and 1 even more adorable "Mini Boa" knit with hot pink eyelash yarn from pattern on Marnie MacLean's site [www.mlminspirations.com] Behold.

And the mini boa...

Today I managed to convince Jonathan to again indulge me by bringing me to JoAnn Fabrics so I could get some fabric I wasn't sick of looking at. I picked up some black cordouroy [I'm sure I butchered that spelling.] A heavy weight Hot Pink [For my "Hot Pink Purse Swap" Shutup.] this maroon fabric with embellished high heels on it, and some new liner and interfacing. I will most likely have another purse or two by next weekend. Anyone still reading this?

I have had 4 wonderful days off from work and tomorrow I must return to the vile, soul-sucking, meaningless horrorshow that I call my job.

Also: I'm getting married in 8 weeks. Holy fuck.
